Neighbor 2 Neighbor Shoot - 2017-11-04

Neighbor to Neighbor shoot

Homeless Prevention Initiative (HPI) went out of business in 2016 and Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) took over helping their clients They help families that are close to becoming homeless, but they have homes now. Many of these families don't have money for a family portrait, and some have never had a family portrait before. N2N contacts their clients and arranges for them to come to out photoshoot if they would like a family portrait. Our club, FCDCC, takes pictures of the families, processes the pictures, prints them (WHCC), frames an 8"x10". N2N will deliver them to the families before Christmas.

Each family will get a package

- 1 framed 8"x10"
- 2 5"x7"s
- 8 wallet size
- all prints will be of the same picture
- CDROM with all other pictures suitable for printing

2017-11-04 Saturday, Shoot

- Murphy Center (NW corner of Blue Spruce Dr. and Conifer, near JAX)
- We have 3 large rooms
- Maximum of 80 family portraits: 4 hours x 5 stations x 4 families/hour-station
- Arrive at 12pm to setup equipment
- Shoot from 1pm to 5pm
- Take down and leave by 6pm Concentrate on taking the best family shot, then as many other groupings and poses as you like. Leave space around edge of picture so it can be cropped to 8x10 or 5x7. Separate family from the background if possible, blur, darker Check for open eyes, and good expressions Test your equipment before the shoot to make sure you know how to work it Need volunteers: photographers, assistants and registration

2017-11-20 Monday, 6pm-8pm, Meet to pick out the best shot for each family

- Mike's house
- 2943 Redburn Drive, Fort Collins, CO
- image format: RGB JPG 8"x10"@300dpi with enough space for crop to 5"x7"
- process images: crop, color adjust, clean
- drop off or send images to Mike Barry mike@fortcollinswebworks.com before Sunday 11/19 (earlier is better)
- DropBox or CDROM work fine
- ZIP compression is fine too Need volunteers: judges

2017-11-21 Tuesday, Mike submits pictures to WHCC

(2016 pictures for 23 families cost $154.10)
2017 costs to print at WHCC
- one 8x10: $2.20
- two 5x7: $0.42 each
- eight up wallets (2.5x3.5): $2.20
- Total cost per family: $5.24
- Maximum total cost: 80 x $5.24 = $419.20
(depends of the number of families that show up)

- clean glass, frame pictures, put CDROM + prints + framed print in envelope
- Joyce and Ruth will supply the frames Need volunteers: assemblers
