We had a few new members at the August meeting. Please welcome Renee, Erica, Kyle, Josh, Margie, Jim, Carol, and Saburo. If you are interested in joining our club, please pay Rich Ernst $20 for annual dues and then contact Mike Barry to add you to the website and email list. You can find us at most of the club meetings and outings.

Bob Babbs is our new president. Ken has been nominated for president elect, and Mike has been nominated for secretary. Think about other nominations, we will be voting at the October meeting.

Our September outing will be this Saturday 9/17 to Guanella Pass (near Georgetown) to photograph Fall color. We plan on stopping in Georgetown for lunch. Meet before 6:00am in the northeast corner of the Harmony Transportation Center parking lot. We will carpool.

Our September evening outing will be Thursday 10/6 (yes, it's actually October) to Devil's Backbone in Loveland for Sunset pictures. Meet at 4pm in the Devil's Backbone parking lot. Sunset will be about 6:30pm. Carpool if possible, the parking lot does fill up. Directions: Take Taft Hill Road south from Fort Collins to U.S. Highway 34 (Eisenhower) and turn right (west). Proceed west on U.S. Highway 34 to just past mile marker #88 (4 miles west of the K-Mart). Turn right (north) onto Hidden Valley Drive just east of the old water tank. The trailhead is on your left.

Our September coffee outing will be Thursday 9/15 at 9:00am at the Full Throttle Coffee Shop (above Boomer's Music - 3761 S. Mason).

Dawn is investigating a weekend outing to Bosque del Apache to photograph the sandhill cranes for January.

The Bohemian Nights event went well. Many of us had a lot of fun. The members that took pictures at the Bohemian Nights should meet with Rich to give him some suggestions and comments about the event that Rich can give back to the Bohemian Foundation.

The Loveland Photo club (LPS) is organizing a 4-day trip to the San Juans to photograph fall color. Look for details on their website lps.cc If you have any questions you can contact Cecil.

The Loveland Photo club is also holding the Rocky Mountain Photo Fest on November 5 and it is open to all. There will be 10 workshops by professional photographers, and the cost is $60 for non-members. Look for details on their website lps.cc

Cyndee has a large American Flag 17' x 24' that she is willing to loan to club members to use as a background.

Send your best 2 pictures of Sarah to Ken. He wants finished images sized to 8.5" x 11" at your best resolution.

Bob has a few FCDCC window stickers available. They are a plastic film that just sticks to your car window. Contact Bob if you want one.

Stephanie will check into getting hats with our club logo.

Nichole will check into getting more business cards printed for our club.

Jack will send Bob a generic model release that the club can use. I will put it on our website so our members can use it.

Adobe is offering a special deal on Lightroom 3 for just $99 to NAPP members. NAPP costs $99 a year. Contact Stephanie for details.

Thanks to Tony for his presentation on film scanning. If you still have slides and negatives you should think about scanning them before they degrade too much.
