2012-10-09 FCDCC Meeting Notes We met in our regular meeting room at Ridgeview Classical School We had several visitors at the meeting tonight, Robin and Linda, please welcome them to our club. Please pay your dues for 2012 to Harry Strharsky if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for each additional spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Check out what the SIGs (Special Interest Groups), they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills. Continue sending photograph submittals for the meetings to Bob Babbs at bobbabbs@aol.com. We need to elect a "President Elect" for the club. The President Elect for this year will become the club President next year, and they are expected to cover the President's responsibilities if the President is not able to attend a meeting or outing. If you would like to be the President Elect, or would like to recommend someone for the position, just send an email to info@fcdcc.com. We will have to move a couple of our meetings to a different room in the future due to schedule conflicts. Our November meeting will be in the regular room. The December, March and May meetings will have to move to a different room, all others will be held in the regular room. We will keep you informed when we figure out which room we will be using. The October club outing was going to be a camping trip to Moraine Park in Rocky Mountain National Park, but the campgrounds is closed due to a wildfire. We have cancelled this month's outing, but will try to reschedule something for later this month. The Elk Rut is starting to taper off so be sure to get up to the park soon if you want to take some great pictures of rutting elk. The October coffee outing will be Wednesday 10/17 at 9am at the Fort Collins Coffee House. The photographic topic for our next club meeting will be "Wildlife" and the alternate topic will be "Night Time Photography". The Zombie Crawl in Old Town on 10/20 can be quite wild... The November club meeting topic will be architectural. If you would like to plan outings and programs for next year please attend the Club Planning Meeting on 10/24 at Ken Eis' house. Please send an email to Ken at KenEis@comcast.net if you would like to attend. The Scott Kelby World Wide Photo Walk will be this Saturday from 3-6pm. We will schedule another Travel Slide Show meeting for Thursday 11/8 or 11/15 at Mulligans. Many thanks to Pat Gaines for his presentation on "Night Photography". He has volunteered to come along on a club outing to show how to take night time photographs.
