2016-11-08 FCDCC Meeting Notes We met in the Community room of the Coloradoan Newspaper, 1300 Riverside Ave. Fort Collins. Please welcome Harriet, Margaret and Gary who were visiting our club. Please pay your dues for 2017 to Rich Ernst at the next meeting if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for each additional spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join. Check out the SIGs (Special Interest Groups); they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills. Please send your SIG outing schedules to info@fcdcc.com so I can add them to the website. Send your photograph submittals to Walter Lyons at photoeditor@fcdcc.com. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing. Please send in 3 or fewer pictures for the slideshow, and send them by Sunday evening so Walt has time to create the slideshow. We also accept short videos for the slideshow. We are looking for volunteers for the Christmas Homeless shoot on November 12 from 12pm to 5pm. See more details on the website. Capacity is limited to 48 club members, so sign up with Rich Ernst soon to reserve your place. Cost is $25/person. Specify if you want the "meat" or "vegetarian" meal. Submit about 5 of your best pictures to Walt by 12/11, for the Christmas Party slideshow. TBD Photography 101 The club members decided that club business cards would be nice. Bob will check into prices. It is time to change the pictures that our club members have hanging at the Fort Collins Coffee House. Members decided who will remove their old pictures and who will add their new ones. Many thanks to Rich Ernst for his presentation "There's an App for That...". His presentation is on the club website on the November page. Just for future reference: We use the projector that The Coloradoan provides during our meetings, and it requires an HDMI connector if you plan to use your own laptop for your presentation. If you don't have an HDMI connector, you can put your presentation in PDF format on a USB memory stick and play it on the laptop that we use for the club information.
