2017-06-13 FCDCC Meeting Notes

We met in the Community room of the Coloradoan Newspaper, 1300 Riverside Ave. Fort Collins.

Please welcome John, Matt, Mark and Dave who were visiting our club.

Please pay your dues for 2017 to Rich Ernst at the next meeting if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for a spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join.

Check out the SIGs (Special Interest Groups); they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills.

Please send your SIG outing schedules to info@fcdcc.com so I can add them to the website.

Send your photograph submittals to Walter Lyons at photoeditor@fcdcc.com. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing. Please send in 3 or fewer pictures for the slideshow, and send them by Sunday evening so Walt has time to create the slideshow. We also accept short videos for the slideshow.

July meeting challenge topic: "Dog Days of Summer", send your pictures to photoeditor@fcdcc.com

Please send images (Fix-It-Photos) that you would like everyone to try "Fixing" to Mike Barry at info@fcdcc.com.

If you don't already have a headshot on the website, please send one to Mike Barry at info@fcdcc.com. I will try to take headshots at the next meeting.

Bob is looking for volunteers for the "Who is this?" section of future meetings, send email to info@fcdcc.com if you are willing to give a short presentation.

We need a new President Elect as Bob Gobeille may not be able to serve next year. If you are interested please email Bob Babbs at info@fcdcc.com.

We also need a new leader for the Landscape SIG. Please email Bob Babbs at info@fcdcc.com if you are interested.

We also need a new leader for the Experimental SIG. Please email Bob Babbs at info@fcdcc.com if you are interested.

Chuck Carpenter has a contact at the Union Pacific Steam Engine Shop that has offered to give us a tour. Please contact Chuck Carpenter if you are interested. Chuck will organize the tour.

Several of our club members are using drones to take pictures or video from above. Please email info@fcdcc.com if you are interested in joining a "Drone Photography SIG", especially if you would be willing to lead it.

Several of our club members have expressed an interest in a "Lightroom SIG". Please email info@fcdcc.com if you are interested in joining a "Lightroom SIG", especially if you would be willing to lead it.

Many thanks to Guy Turenne for his presentation on "Shooting Wild Horses in the Sand Wash Basin".

Thank you to Linda who presented "Who is Linda Fellion?". Rich Ernst was volunteered to present "Who is Rich Ernst?" at the August club meeting.

Just for future reference: We use the projector that The Coloradoan provides during our meetings, and it requires an HDMI connector if you plan to use your own laptop for your presentation. If you don't have an HDMI connector, you can put your presentation in PDF format on a USB memory stick and play it on the laptop that we use for the club information.
