Photoshop Workshop

Leaders:
Mike Stauder and Ken Eis

Meetings:
3rd Tuesday of the month @6:30pm - 8:30pm
Ken Eis’ house 5238 Fox Hills Dr. Ft Collins, That’s in the Clarendon Hills subdivision just south of the intersection of Shields and Harmony.

I will be using a new Apple MacBookPro and displaying its output on a 56 inch Sony Bravia TV. It looks pretty good. Bring your own laptop and note taking materials. It will be tight if all 25 interested actually come. We will be using Photoshop CC2015.5 the most up to date version of Photoshop. If you have CS5 or CS6 you can still follow but there may be some minor disconnects. This is NOT a Lightroom workshop. If you are on the Adobe subscription service make sure you come with the most up to date version of Photoshop. Its free to update. We will be covering the most useful features of Photoshop but the first few meetings will focus on layers, masks, and selection techniques. I will be playing a Creative Live tutorial titled Adobe Photoshop CC: The Complete Guide taught by Ben Willmore. I consider Ben the best PS instructor around. He easily beats any of the Photoshop Guys working for Scot Kelby. You can buy the entire 8 day course for about $170. You will never regret it. No I don’t get any kickback from Creative Live. We will stop the video if anyone needs clarification. So the first night we will get acquainted and I will learn what everyone wants to learn. The agenda will be: An introduction to PS that will very quickly go over Bridge, Adobe Camera Raw, and the layout of the Photoshop window panels. You must understand these features before you can cope with Layers, Masks or Selections. I will play Ben’s 50-minute presentation on Selections. You will need to be able to make selections in a variety of ways in order to take advantage of layers and masks in the following months. If we have time we can make some selections from photos you bring to the meeting. Please bring smaller files so they don’t take a long time to load and process. Ken will be teaching basic techniques and Mike will be talking about the creative uses of the tools and features. In November we will be ready to talk about Layers
