2013-07-09 FCDCC Meeting Notes

We met in our regular room at Ridgeview Classical School
Ridgeview Classical School on the southeast corner of Lemay and Stuart (1800 S. Lemay) Enter through the east side of the building.

Please welcome Russ to our club.

Please pay your dues for 2013 to Harry Strharsky if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for each additional spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join.

Check out what the SIGs (Special Interest Groups), they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills.

Continue sending photograph submittals for the meetings to Bob Babbs at bobbabbs@aol.com. We are looking for a new volunteer to handle the photograph submittals. If you are interested please contact Bob. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing.

We need to elect a "President Elect" for the club. The President Elect for this year will become the club President next year, and they are expected to cover the President's responsibilities if the President is not able to attend a meeting or outing. If you would like to be the President Elect, or would like to recommend someone for the position, just send an email to info@fcdcc.com.

The July Club Outing will be Fri 7/19 - Sun 7/21 to photograph wildflowers in Gunnison and Crested Butte. We plan to meet at 8am at the Harmony Transportation Center to carpool.

The July Coffee Meeting will be Thursday 7/25 at 9am at the Dazbog Coffee Shop on Cherry St.

The July Evening Meeting will be Tuesday 7/30 at 5:30pm at the Environmental Learning Center, corner of Drake and Ziegler.

The August outing will be Saturday Aug 3 to Rocky Mountain National Park for night sky photography. Meet at the Harmony Transfer Center at 5pm to meet and carpool to RMNP.

The August Travel Slideshow will be Thursday Aug 8 from 6pm-9pm at the Old Town Library. Submit your pictures to Dawn Wilson by Sunday 7/28 so she can add them to the slideshow.

The September outing will be Thursday 9/26 - Sunday 9/29 to Custer State Park for the "Bison Roundup". If you want a press pass you should request it soon.

The alternate topic for July is Blue Skies.

Eleanor Oyen is looking for someone to make a presentation at the August meeting. Please contact her if you have any ideas.
