We have had a cool summer as well as storms with rain with hail. So growth at the gardens is slower then past years. The weather forecast is for quite warm temperatures for the next week, perhaps more. I will visit the gardens around July 17th. If needed, I will reschedule the photoshoot. Since the light becomes harsh around 10:00 am, this would be a good time to wrap up the photoshoot and head over to the Wild Boar Cafe for coffee and food :-). -Paul
Hi Folks, I was at the CSU Trial Gardens this morning. The perennial beds look quite good as do the sun containers in the annual gardens. Some regions of the annual beds need a little more time to grow. All in all, I think there are a lot of flowers and plants to photograph. If case you do not know, the annual flowers and plants are on the west side of Remington Street and the perennial gardens are on the east side of Remington Street between Lake and Pitkins. We will have our macro photo-shoot on Saturday, July 20th. Lets gather at the Gazebo at 8:00 am.

I've been watching the weather, moon, and my horoscope, and I've decided tomorrow night (Monday evening 7/29/2019) is time to get out. It's not quite new moon, but moon-rise isn't until 3:30 am or so, therefore a midnight shoot should work well. In addition, the Milky Way should be nearly vertical at that time. I want to go to the Peace Valley School (again). This time i'd like to experiment with new LED votive candles Janet found or me on Amazon (see attached). They have a nice warm color, and the amount of light can be modulated by the number and placement of the candles. If you are interested, please let me know. Those of you in Fort Collins can meet at my house to car-pool. Otherwise we can meet at the Briggsdale gas station on Highway 14. I plan to leave at 11 pm Monday evening, 7/29. - Cheers. Ralph
