Cyclecross is a bicycle race over an obstacle course, often there is mud, sand, snow, water, steps and hills. Some of these riders are professionals and the winners will receive $1000 in some of the race categories. The races will be held rain, snow or shine. Food and beer will be available on site. The races run all day Saturday and Sunday, so show up whenever you want, and shoot until you are done. They usually let spectators wander around the grounds as long as we stay off the track. Find a location that gives you a good view of the race, maybe at one of the obstacles, and shoot for a while. Then check out other locations. This will be a good opportunity to experiment with slower exposures to emphasize motion. The "Racer Information" page gives the schedule: https://crossofthenorth.com/racer-info . If it rains or snows, bring protection for your camera. I will probably arrive around 9am on Saturday, and try to find some lunch about 12pm if you want to join me.
See you on Saturday,
Mike Barry

Image of Palestinian carrying children out of rubble shows signs of AI
"This image is almost certainly AI-generated," said Hany Farid, professor at the University of California, Berkeley and expert in digital forensics, misinformation and image analysis, on October 30. "In addition to our models classifying it as AI, there are telltale signs in the image like the misshapen arm of the adult," the professor noted.
