Mike Barry will be leading this outing to Cheyenne Frontier Days for the Rodeo Slack Events. Cowboys and Cowgirls compete in the slack events to qualify for the main rodeo events. Slack will give us lots of experience shooting these events. We can shoot in the "behind the chutes" area, the media pit, the stands, and around the arena. CFD slack is very photographer friendly, but there will be professional photographers shooting and they don't want to hear that you are giving pictures away to the competitors for free. Colleen and I will be attending both Tuesday and Wednesday, leaving at 6am for slack and returning when slack is over, which may take all day.
Our Schedule
6:00am - Leave Fort Collins for Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo Slack
Eat lunch when you want to take a break
Return to Fort Collins when the slack event is over, which may be 5pm
(If you drive yourself you can leave anytime)
Directions
Follow I-25 N to Hynds Blvd in Laramie County.
Take exit 11 for Randall Ave toward Pershing Blvd
Continue onto Hynds Blvd
Continue as the road turns right and becomes Kennedy Rd
Turn right on Carey Ave
Turn right into the parking lot for CFD Rodeo Slack and CFD Old West Museum
Please contact Mike Barry if you plan to carpool with us, and specify if you want to drive, and which day you are going. We will be leaving at 6:00am, so plan to get there a bit early to arrange the carpool.

This is a limited time photographic exhibit which runs through 10/20. The photos were taken throughout the Southwest to try to show the effects of mining and climate change, and are a combination of landscapes (including aerial photos) and portraits.
Contributed by Albert Wang on 7/12.
There will be two meteor showers peaking around July 30.
However, they are toward the south and I think they are somewhat low in the sky.
