Swetsville Zoo Sat 10/13 @10am

The Swetsville Zoo is a sculpture park on Bill Swets' farm. Bill has created exotic sculptures from parts of old cars, farm equipment and other metal items. Let's meet at 10am at the zoo. There is plenty of parking. Cost is free, but they ask for donations.

Sun 10/21 ROLLER DERBY: The Annual Black & Blue Ball is Sunday afternoon at the Bud Event Center, tickets are $10 advance and $15 at the door. Info is here: http://www.focorollerderby.org (I shot this last year, and really fun event!)
Sun 10/21 @7am-6pm, MOTOCROSS: State Championships are 10/21 in Dacono, tickets $12 to all events. Info is here: http://rmxa.org (I didn’t get a chance to shoot the last local event, sure am going to do my best to get there in the a.m.)

Landscape SIG Outing - Fri 10/26 @5:30am, Boulder Flatirons, Meet at the west side of Front Range Community College parking lot along south Shields St. for carpooling to Boulder on Friday, Oct. 26 at 5:30 a.m. Drive to Chautauqua Trailhead in Boulder, arriving about 6:40 a.m. If weather is horrible on Friday, October 26 our backup day is Tuesday, October 30. I will notify you if we change the date because of inclement weather. Walk a portion of the Chautauqua Trail and set up for photographing the flatirons as the sun rises (about 7:23 a.m.). After photographing the flatirons, we can hike a bit for additional photographs of the Chautauqua area before going for breakfast at the Chautauqua Dinning Hall or another local breakfast place nearby. The plan is to return to Fort Collins by about noon. Please email Frank Ethridge at franke129@msn.com if you plan on attending this Landscape SIG so we will know who to expect at the carpool site at Front Range Community College or if you have any questions. A discussion of the geologic origin of the flatirons in one of these websites is incorrect. We will have a discussion of this after photographing the flatirons.
