Thu 12/21 @6pm - Winter Wonderlights Outing
Let's photograph a Christmas light show
Topic: Winter Wonderlights
URL: https://visitloveland.com/winterwonderlights/
When: December 21 at 6:00pm
Where: Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra in Loveland just east of the Promenade Shops retail center at U.S. Hwy. 34 and I-25.
Cost: Free
Parking: The best place to park is just east of Macy’s in the Promenade Shops at Centerra.
Contact: Mike Barry (mike@fortcollinswebworks.com)
We don't need to officially meet before we start, just start wandering around the park taking pictures of the interesting light displays when you arrive. The nightly light show spectacular runs from 5-9pm each evening. There will be fewer people during the week because there are live shows on Saturdays. Some of the lights change brightness and color or give the effect that they are moving. This will be a good opportunity to experiment with "Intentional Camera Movement" or just taking pictures of the beautiful lighting displays. I plan to bring a tripod and a wide angle lens, and I will be dressing warm. The AccuWeather website predicts that the temperature will be between 48'F and 42'F with a 7mph breeze. You can stay as long as you wish, I expect that most people will get cold in an hour or two and leave. The Promenade Shops at Centerra are nearby so we could even stop in for a hot beverage if we want.
Please contact me if you are interested in this outing so I will know to look for you. mike@fortcollinswebworks.com
Thanks, Mike Barry

Sat 12/30 @10am - CSU Photo Walk
Ralph Smith has volunteered to lead us on a photo walk around the CSU campus to see the architecture and tell us about the university and its history.
Topic: CSU campus
URL: https://admissions.colostate.edu/visits-events/self-guided-tours/
When: December 30 at 10am-12pm
Where: Let's meet at the corner of Laurel St. and College Ave. at 10am
Cost: Free
Lunch: After the tour in a local restaurant
Parking: The best place to park is probably street parking
Contact: Mike Barry (mike@fortcollinswebworks.com)
CSU is a public land-grant research university founded in 1870 as the Colorado Agricultural College. Wikipedia says that the first students "labored on the college farm and attended daily chapel services". I think that was before Ralph's time at the university, but I hope that he can tell us some interesting stories. I believe that most of the students are on break so the campus will be less crowded, and this will be a good opportunity to photograph some local historic architecture. The AccuWeather website predicts partly sunny weather and a temperature of 26'F to 53'F with a slight breeze. I plan to bring a wide angle lens and dress warm. After the tour, if anyone is interested in lunch we can find a local restaurant.
Please contact me if you are interested in this outing so I will know to look for you. mike@fortcollinswebworks.com
Thanks, Mike Barry
