Club Outings

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum in Denver on 1/18.
Transferred from the United States Air Force to a group of volunteers in 1994, Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum is located in Hangar 1 of the former Lowry Air Force Base in eastern Denver, Colorado. Today, the museum boasts more than 100,000 square feet of exhibit space dedicated to displaying iconic aircraft, space vehicles, artifacts, military uniforms and much more.
Topic: Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum
URL: https://wingsmuseum.org/
When: Thursday January 18 at 10am-5pm (drive time ~1.5 hr)
Where: Former Lowry Air Force Base (Hangar 1) at 7711 East Academy Blvd Denver, CO 80230
Carpool: Let's meet at the Harmony Transfer Center at 8:25am and leave at 8:30am
Cost: Adult $19.95; Senior $15.95
Lunch: local restaurant
Parking: The best place to park is at the museum
Contact: Mike Barry (mike@fortcollinswebworks.com)
The museum has helicopters, airplanes, hang gliders, space craft, missles, rockets, "Little Boy" replica, T-65 X-Wing Fighter (Star Wars) and other aviation related exhibits. There should be a lot to photograph. Tripods, Monopods and flash are OK if they don't bother other guests. I will probably bring a 24-70 wide angle zoom and a monopod as there might not be a lot of space.
Let's meet at the Harmony Transfer Center at 8:25am and leave at 8:30am. It will take about 1.5hr to drive to the museum, and it opens at 10am. We will probably shoot until 12pm or 1pm and then go out for lunch. If we haven't had enough time with the exhibits we can come back for more in the afternoon, but I expect that we will leave for Fort Collins after lunch.
Please contact me if you are interested in this outing so I will know to look for you.

Thanks, Mike Barry
