2012-09-11 FCDCC Meeting Notes

We met in our regular meeting room at Ridgeview Classical School
Ridgeview Classical School on the southeast corner of Lemay and Stuart (1800 S. Lemay) Enter through the east side of the building.

We had several visitors at the meeting tonight, Ping and David, please welcome them to our club.

Please pay your dues for 2012 to Rich Ernst if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for each additional spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18.

Check out what the SIGs (Special Interest Groups), they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills.

Continue sending photograph submittals for the meetings to KenEis@comcast.net.

We need an image for a fix-it-photo for next month. Please send possible pictures to Bob Babbs, info@fcdcc.com.

The library photo contest went so well that they have asked us to judge next year's contest too. Contact Bob Barley if you wish to help with the judging.

We elected officers for the next year:
President - Ken Eis (elected last year for President Elect which becomes the President)
President Elect - Rich Ernst
Secretary - Mike Barry
Treasurer - Harry Strharsky
Programs Chair - Eleanor Oyen
Outings Chair - Dawn Wilson

The September club outing will be to the Grand Tetons from 9/21 to 9/24. There is a forest fire near Jackson which may affect the outing. Please send Dawn an email if you are going. She is organizing car pooling and lodging.

The September coffee outing will be Wednesday 9/19 at 9am at the Fort Collins Coffee House.

We don't have any more evening outings scheduled for the year.

The October club outing will be to camp in Rocky Mountain National Park from 10/12 to 10/14. We will be staying in Moraine Park Campground. They are not taking reservations, so one of members should show up early to insure we get a good campsite. The elk are already bugling and fighting over the females, and the elk activity is expected to peak about 10/20-27.

The topic for September is: Fall Colors

The alternate photo topic for September is: Yellow & Blue

Many thanks to David Clack for his presentation on "Composition for Landscape Photography".

Email mike, info@fcdcc.com, when you find mistakes, missing information or if you have suggestions for the website and I will try to address the issue.
