2011-01-11 FCDCC Meeting Notes The January outing will be Saturday 1/22 to the Greeley Freight Station Museum. Meet at 9:30am at the Northeast corner of the Harmony Transportation Center, or at 10:00am at the Museum in Greeley, 680 10th St. Cost is $6 general admission and $5 for seniors. Bring a tripod. We had 6 guests attend the meeting: Dawn Munro, Judy Meyers, Chris Wood, Harry Miller, Susan Bran, and Bryce Habar. Please excuse my spelling, I made my best guess. Bob spoke about the upcoming "Library Beginner Digital Photo Workshop". The workshop will be Saturday 2/19 from 10am-12noon at the library (which one?). Bob Babbs will meet with other members to put together the presentation for the library. We will try to provide a lot of one-on-one help at the workshop, and Harry is looking for more volunteers to help show the attendees how to use their cameras. Please send us an email, info@fcdcc.com, if you are willing to help out. Annual dues are now due, $20/single or $30/couple for 2011. Please pay our treasurer, Rich Ernst, at the next meeting you attend. The Homeless Prevention Initiative Portrait Session in December went very well. We made family portraits for 11 families. They enjoyed the pictures and we had fun taking their portraits. Mike, Rich, Don, Harry, Ann and Bob have formed a website committee to evaluate how well our members are being served by the website and how we can better address their needs and desires. I suspect that we will be sending around a questionaire regarding the website. Please give us your feedback so we can make the website as good as possible. Bob has started accumulating pictures from members for the Club Portfolio. The club is going to try to get more exposure for our photographs around town (showings), and we will be using this portfolio to show businesses the quality of our photographs in an attempt to convince them that our photographs would look good on display in their locations. If you would like your pictures to be included please bring 1 or 2 prints (8½" x 11") to Bob at one of our club meetings. Tony is looking for ideas for programs for 2011. If you have any suggestions, please email them to us at info@fcdcc.com, and include if you are willing to present the topic. Dawn is the Outings Chairperson for 2011 and she is also looking for more ideas. Please email any ideat for outings to Dawn at info@fcdcc.com. Dawn is organizing the March outing to the Sandhill Crane Migration now. This will be peak migration time so it will be crowded with people too, meaning that we will need to make our reservations for lodging and blinds soon. Dawn will try to book a block of rooms at a "cheap bedbug-free" hotel in Kearney, NE and for 1 sunset and 1 sunrise in a blind. For the January informal outing, we will meet at the Dazbog on Harmony between Zieglar and Corbett in the new shopping center at 9am on Thursday 1/20. The photo subject for next month is wildlife. We aren't sure where we are holding next month's meeting yet.
