2011-07-12 FCDCC Meeting Notes
We had a few new members at the July meeting. Please welcome Phil, Nicole, Nancy, Mike and anyone else that I may have missed. If you are still interested in joining our club, please pay Rich Ernst $20 for annual dues and then contact Mike Barry to add you to the website and email list.
Our July outing will be to Brainard Lake on Saturday, July 16, 2011.
Meet before 7:30am at the Northeast corner of the Harmony Transportation Center (North side of Harmony near I25 across from the Shell Gas Station).
We will drive to Brainard Lake (near Nederland and Ward) in the Indian Peaks Wilderness for a hike up to Niwot Ridge (~2.7mi).
The drive should take about 1.5 hours.
The Wildflowers are expected to be excellent.
The August outing has been rescheduled to Saturday 8/20 to accommodate New West Fest.
Our July evening outing will be Monday July 18 at 3pm at the Gardens on Spring Creek, on Center Avenue between Prospect and Shields. The Gardens closes around 5pm.
Our July coffee outing will be Wednesday July 27 at the Full Throttle Coffee House, located on Mason St. south of Horsetooth, and above Boomer Music. We will be taking down our photo exhibit.
Our club, FCDCC, will be presenting a travel photography workshop at the Council Tree Library Wednesday July 20 at 7pm. Please be there at 6:30 if you will be presenting or helping out. The Council Tree Library is located at 2733 Council Tree Avenue in the new shopping center at Harmony and Corbett. Dawn is looking for a few more travel photographs to add to the presentation. If you have a good travel photograph, send it to Dawn before Friday 7/15. Dawn is also looking for comments on the presentation before Friday 7/15.
New West Fest will be 8/12, 13, & 14 this year. Rich has spoken to the organizers and they want us to photograph the event again this year, but they have just started getting organized and they will be contacting us later with details.
Jack presented the results of the FCDCC Survey. 27 members responded, which is very good for a paid up membership of 25-30 members. Anyone interested in working on some of the problems brought up by the FCDCC Survey is invited to a meeting on July 26 6:30pm-8:30pm to discuss the survey results.
