2011-08-09 FCDCC Meeting Notes
We had a few new members at the August meeting. Please welcome Judy, Steve, Amberlee, Hayden and anyone else that I may have missed. If you are still interested in joining our club, please pay Rich Ernst $20 for annual dues and then contact Mike Barry to add you to the website and email list.
Our August outing will be to the Wyoming Territorial Prison on Saturday, August 20, 2011.
Meet before 8:00am at the Northwest corner of the King Soopers parking lot by Pobre Panchos restaurant (North College).
The prison is open 9:00am to 6:00pm, and they charge $5 per person.
There are many indoor and outdoor photo opportunities.
Our August evening outing will be Tuesday August 16 starting at 5:00pm in Library Park near the old log cabins to take abstract photographs in Old Town.
Our August coffee outing will be Wednesday August 17 at the Full Throttle Coffee House, located on Mason St. south of Horsetooth, and above Boomer Music. Bring your cameras, we will be taking pictures.
Start thinking about the September 17 outing to Guanella Pass to photograph the fall colors.
We have another club organizational meeting on Monday August 22 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Harmony library (Harmony and Shields). All members are welcome.
The Bohemian Nights (at New West Fest) will be 8/12, 13, & 14 this year. Rich has worked with the Bohemian Foundation and our club again this year so we will be volunteering to take photographs for the Bohemian Foundation. 80 bands - 6 stages - 3 days. They want us to take pictures of the crowds, signs, items of interest, and mostly the performers. Pick up your press passes at the Armory Building on Mountain. (We better confirm this beause the New West Fest volunteer webpage says "If you missed orientation please arrive at least 45 minutes early so we can give you a quick orientation at the Volunteer Tent. Volunteer Check-In will be located in Library Park, on the northeast corner of Peterson and Oak." Your pictures are due 2 weeks later, by August 28 (give them to Rich).
The Windsor Garden Tour Flower Show is this Saturday August 13. Contact Liz Meyer for tickets.
Thanks to Eric for his Panorama presentation and for demonstrating the Hugin panorama software and the FSPViewer. Both software packages are FREE and seem to be quite powerful and easy to use, at least they did an excellent job during Eric's presentation.
