2015-03-10 FCDCC Meeting Notes We met in our regular room (PAC) at Ridgeview Classical School Please welcome Barbara, Dennis, Tom, Hugh, Diva and Nick who were visting the club. Please pay your dues for 2015 to Harry Strharsky at the January meeting if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for each additional spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join. Check out the SIGs (Special Interest Groups); they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills. Please send your SIG outings schedules to info@fcdcc.com so I can add them to the website. Send your photograph submittals for the February meeting to Gerry Cashman at photoeditor@fcdcc.com. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing. Please send in 3 or fewer pictures for the slideshow, and send them by Sunday evening so Gary has time to create the slideshow. We also accept short videos for the slideshow. We still have some offices and positions that need to be filled: The March Challenge Topic was "Textures or the Log Cabins at the Fort Collins Museum". The March Challenge Topic is "Max Busses or Abstracts". March 11 afternoon: Bisti planning meeting at Ken's house March 14 @10am St. Patrick's Day Parade in Old Town Fort Collins March 21 @8am: Bison shoot at CSU March 21 @6-9pm: The Ridgeview Classical School Father/Daughter Dance is 3/21 from 6-9pm. They would like a few of our photographers to take pictures at the dance. The PAC (our regular meeting room) will be available for posed pictures so you can setup a background and lights. Please contact Gary Jens, president@fcdcc.com, if you would like to volunteer. Ridgeview lets us use their rooms for our club meetings at no charge so we need to keep them happy with us. Unknown date: RCS would like us to take pictures at the Ridgeview Classical School Mother/Son Bowling Tournament. More details to come. March 24 @9am: Coffee meeting at the Fort Collins Coffee House on Mason. March 28: Nagel Exhibit and Sale takedown March 28 @7:30am-9:30am: Rocky Mountain Raptor Program Photoshoot and Fundraiser. April 5 @1:00pm-5:00pm: Portrait SIG model shoot, theme is recreating famous images April 11: Deadline to enter images for the Louisville Art Association - 24th Annual 2015 National Photo Show. More details at: louisvilleart.org April 14 @6:30pm: April club meeting July 13-17: Laramie County Community College (Cheyenne campus) is excited to host their first photography workshop “Photography as Fine Art,” sponsored by the Edington Family Enrichment Fund. They will be hosting Colorado photographer, Nat Coalson, July 13-17 for a 5-day workshop running 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day. The cost of the workshop is $300 and is open on a first-come basis with 15 seats available. - Call Lisa Trimble 432.1603 to register.
