2016-01-12 FCDCC Meeting Notes

We met in the Community room of the Coloradoan Newspaper, 1300 Riverside Ave. Fort Collins.

Jim, ?Rock?, Walt and Christine were visiting at the meeting, please welcome them.

Please pay your dues for 2016 to Rich Ernst at the January meeting if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for each additional spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join.

Check out the SIGs (Special Interest Groups); they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills.

Please send your SIG outing schedules to info@fcdcc.com so I can add them to the website.

Send your photograph submittals to Walter Lyons at photoeditor@fcdcc.com. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing. Please send in 3 or fewer pictures for the slideshow, and send them by Sunday evening so Walt has time to create the slideshow. We also accept short videos for the slideshow.

Several members expressed an interest in shooting the Ridgeview Classical School Prom and Father/Daughter dance and maybe graduation. If you are interested please send an email to Mike Barry info@fcdcc.com. I will contact RCS about photography opportunities.

1/3 @1pm-5pm Portrait SIG shoot, theme was up to the models, and we had a Steampunk family and 2 young women modeling for us.

1/9-1/24 National Western Stock Show in Denver

1/12 @6:30pm January Club meeting at The Coloradoan Newspaper office

1/16 Wildlife SIG January outing to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal and DIA Loop. Meet @6:30am at the Harmony Transfer Center.

1/21 @9am January Coffee meeting at the Fort Collins Coffee House

1/23 @1pm January Club outing to the Global Village Museum and street photography in Old Town Fort Collins

1/30 10am-4pm Bath Bird Day at Bath Nursery

Many thanks to Kevin Cook for his presentation regarding his photographic needs. Hopefully we can all benefit from our new relationship. Kevin needs pictures for his presentations and is willing to help us find the plants, animals, fungi, etc that we will want to photograph. Until we hear better, try to provide images that are w=2048px by h=1536px.
