2016-02-09 FCDCC Meeting Notes

We met in the Community room of the Coloradoan Newspaper, 1300 Riverside Ave. Fort Collins.

Paul and Steve were visiting at the meeting, please welcome them.

Please pay your dues for 2016 to Rich Ernst at the next meeting if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for each additional spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join.

Check out the SIGs (Special Interest Groups); they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills.

Please send your SIG outing schedules to info@fcdcc.com so I can add them to the website.

Send your photograph submittals to Walter Lyons at photoeditor@fcdcc.com. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing. Please send in 3 or fewer pictures for the slideshow, and send them by Sunday evening so Walt has time to create the slideshow. We also accept short videos for the slideshow.

February challenge topic: "Ice and Snow", you might want to check out the Loveland Fire and Ice event this weekend.

2/20 Macro SIG outing to Denver Botanic Gardens. Meet at Harmony Transportation Center to carpool, and leave at 8am.

2/20 Wildlife SIG outing to Butterfly Pavillion, Meet at the Harmony Transportation Center at 7:35am (leave at 7:45am)

2/20 @6pm-9pm Ridgeview Classical School Father/Daughter dance, building opens after 2pm for us to setup

2/21 @5am February Landscape SIG outing to Sprague Lake for sunrise shots. Meet at thee SW corner of the Harmony Library parking lot.

2/23 @9am February Coffee Meeting at Dazbog on Cherry.

2/27 @10am February club outing will be an indoor macro shoot at CSU.

Kevin Cook is looking for signs from National, State, County and Municipal parks and Wildlife areas.

The Cheyenne Camera Club is looking for a few volunteers to judge their digital photographs. They meet every other Thursday from 6-8pm, and they have about 60 entries per meeting. Contact Judy Myers if you want to help out.
