2017-02-14 FCDCC Meeting Notes

We met in the Community room of the Coloradoan Newspaper, 1300 Riverside Ave. Fort Collins.

Please welcome Dennis, John and Cathy who were visiting our club.

Please pay your dues for 2017 to Rich Ernst at the next meeting if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for each additional spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join.

Check out the SIGs (Special Interest Groups); they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills.

Please send your SIG outing schedules to info@fcdcc.com so I can add them to the website.

Send your photograph submittals to Walter Lyons at photoeditor@fcdcc.com. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing. Please send in 3 or fewer pictures for the slideshow, and send them by Sunday evening so Walt has time to create the slideshow. We also accept short videos for the slideshow.

March meeting challenge topic: "Season of Snow and Ice", send your pictures to photoeditor@fcdcc.com

Please send Fix-it-photos to Mike Barry at info@fcdcc.com.

If you don't already have a headshot on the website, please send one to Mike Barry at info@fcdcc.com. I will try to take headshots at the next meeting.

We need speakers for October and November, please contact Bob Babbs if you have any ideas for speakers.

Wed 2/22 @9am - February Coffee Meeting, Dazbog at Mason & Cherry

Mon 2/27 & Sat 3/4 - Experimental SIG at Bob's house, ink and paint clouds

Sat 6/3 - Wildlife SIG shoot wild horses in Sand Wash Basin (NW Colorado, near Maybelle)

The March club meeting presentation will be "Ancient Skies Through Ancient Eyes" and Bob Gobeille will be presenting "Camera Protective Screens".

The March club outing will be Light Painting

If you plan to go see the Solar Eclipse later this year in Wyoming, you should have reservations for a room by now, and you might want to start organizing car pooling.

Many thanks to Rich, Jim, Ken, Mike and J.R. for their presentation on Post Processing Paraphernalia.

Just for future reference: We use the projector that The Coloradoan provides during our meetings, and it requires an HDMI connector if you plan to use your own laptop for your presentation. If you don't have an HDMI connector, you can put your presentation in PDF format on a USB memory stick and play it on the laptop that we use for the club information.

Email Mike, info@fcdcc.com, when you find mistakes, missing information or if you have suggestions for the website and I will try to address the issues.
