2017-10-10 FCDCC Meeting Notes We met in the Community room of the Coloradoan Newspaper, 1300 Riverside Ave. Fort Collins. Please welcome Genie who was visiting our club. Please pay your dues for 2017 to Rich Ernst at the next meeting if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for a spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join. Check out the SIGs (Special Interest Groups); they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills. Please send your SIG outing schedules to info@fcdcc.com so I can add them to the website. Send your photograph submittals to Walter Lyons at photoeditor@fcdcc.com. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing. Please send in 3 or fewer pictures for the slideshow, and send them by Sunday evening so Walt has time to create the slideshow. We also accept short videos for the slideshow. November meeting challenge topic: "Autumn", send your pictures to photoeditor@fcdcc.com Please send images (Fix-It-Photos) that you would like everyone to try "Fixing" to Mike Barry at info@fcdcc.com. If you don't already have a headshot on the website, please send one to Mike Barry at info@fcdcc.com. Our new officers will take over at the November meeting: We also need new leaders for a few of the Special Interest Groups: Club members expressed an interest in a Lightroom SIG, if you are interested in running it please contact Paul Marcoux info@fcdcc.com. Many thanks to Monique Rodgriguez for her presentation on "Posing Families for Portraits". Thanks to Guy Turenne for his presentation on "Who is Guy Turenne?" Just for future reference: We use the projector that The Coloradoan provides during our meetings, and it requires an HDMI connector if you plan to use your own laptop for your presentation. If you don't have an HDMI connector, you can put your presentation in PDF format on a USB memory stick and play it on the laptop that we use for the club information. Our Christmas Party (in December) will be at CB&Potts, 1441 Horsetooth Rd. Cost will be $25/person. Further details TBD. October Photographic Opportunities Sun 10/1 @1pm-5pm - Portait SIG model shoot at Mike's studio Tue 10/10 @6:30pm - Club meeting in the Community Room of the Coloradoan Bldg Sat 10/14 @7:30pm - Club outing "Fort Collins Underground Ghost Tour". Admission is $13 for a 90 minute tour. Our club has purchased tickets for 10 club members. Most were already spoken for at the club meeting, but there may be one left. Please contact Rich Ernst if you would like to go on the tour. If these tickets are sold out, you can still join our group by calling the Ghost Tours at (970) 372-1445.
