2017-11-14 FCDCC Meeting Notes
We met in the Community room of the Coloradoan Newspaper, 1300 Riverside Ave. Fort Collins.
Please welcome Ken, Albert, Sue, Lin, Ning, Steven and Noah who were visiting our club.
Please pay your dues for 2018 to Rich Ernst at the next meeting if you haven't already paid. You can find him at most meetings. Annual dues are $25/member with $15 for a spouse and $10 for each additional child under 18. Dues are prorated based on the month you join.
We don't have a club meeting in December, we have a Christmas party instead.
Check out the SIGs (Special Interest Groups); they have been holding lots of meetings and going on lots of outings. Participating in a SIG is an excellent way to develop your skills.
Please send your SIG outing schedules to info@fcdcc.com so I can add them to the website.
Send your photograph submittals to Walter Lyons at photoeditor@fcdcc.com. Remember to send in before and after versions of your pictures so we can learn about post processing. Please send in 3 or fewer pictures for the slideshow, and send them by Sunday evening so Walt has time to create the slideshow. We also accept short videos for the slideshow.
Send Walt your 3 favorite pictures from 2017. He will assemble the pictures into a slideshow for the Christmas party.
January meeting challenge topic: "The End", send your pictures to photoeditor@fcdcc.com
Please send images (Fix-It-Photos) that you would like everyone to try "Fixing" to Mike Barry at info@fcdcc.com.
If you don't already have a headshot on the website, please send one to Mike Barry at info@fcdcc.com.
We need new leaders for a few of the Special Interest Groups:
Landscape SIG
Photoshop SIG
Experimental SIG
Lightroom SIG
iPhoneography SIG
Sports and Events SIG
Video SIG
Architecture SIG
These SIGs will go away if we don't get a volunteer to lead them.
Please email Paul Marcoux at info@fcdcc.com if you are interested.
Many thanks to David Mayhew for his presentation on "Shoot for the Sky" on weather photography.
Thanks to Ralph Smith for his presentation on "Who is Ralph Smith?"
Just for future reference: We use the projector that The Coloradoan provides during our meetings, and it requires an HDMI connector if you plan to use your own laptop for your presentation. If you don't have an HDMI connector, you can put your presentation in PDF format on a USB memory stick and play it on the laptop that we use for the club information.
Our Christmas Party (in December) will be at CB&Potts, 1441 Horsetooth Rd. Cost will be $30/person. Please send your 3 favorite pictures from 2017 to Walt for a slideshow at the party.
Ken Eis is having retina surgery and should be home by Friday.
